ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

The Department of "Mechanical Engineering" at Capital Engineering College is one of the oldest departments and was established in the year 2010 with an annual intake of 60 in B.tech. In the academic year 2014-15 another 60 intake added to the existing 60 intake resulted to total 120 annual intake in B.Tech. presently the department have 120 annual intake in B.tech and 120 annual intake in Diploma.

The department deals with theory, design, development and application of Mechanical Engineering and related technologies. Within a short span of time the department has carved a niche for itself and demonstrated its credentials in all-round development of its students be it academics, research projects, robotics, research paper presentation and publication in peer reviewed journals and conferences. The department boasts of a well-balanced industry experienced and well qualified faculties. The Department is well equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and one dedicated workshop, which provides exceptional platform for teaching, learning and developing skills of students.

In research, Department has comprehended a wide range of areas, such as heat transfer, waste heat recovery, nano fluid, robotics, composite material under the guidance of eminent personalities from the related field. Some of our faculties are currently pursuing research in nano-fluid and formation of crude oil from waste plastic and metal matrix composites. Seminars, symposiums and conferences are conducted by the department on a regular basis to cope up with the emerging trends in recent developments in Mechanical Engineering.
