ABOUT THE COURSE:

The B-Tech in Civil Engineering at Capital Engineering College is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. B-Tech in Civil Engineering at Capital Engineering College started in the year 2014 with an annual intake of 60 seats and presently continuing with an annual intake of 90 seats.

Civil engineering programs aim to produce competent engineers who can effectively forward the causes of civil engineering and satisfy community needs. The Department's goal is to generate a highly competent and skilled labor force to meet the demands of the private sector, government agencies responsible for infrastructure development, research and development companies, and academic institutions. The Department places a strong emphasis on having a comprehensive awareness of fundamental concepts, a deep understanding of a particular field, developing creative problem-solving skills to address challenges in civil engineering, and the ability to adapt to and resolve cross-disciplinary issues.

B-Tech Regular (Civil Engineering

4 Years (8 Semesters

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship (AICTE Process Handbook, 2022-23) OR Passed min. 3 years Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted

B-Tech Lateral (Civil Engineering)

3 Years (6 Semesters)

Passed Minimum THREE years / TWO years (Lateral Entry) Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology. OR Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject. OR Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.(the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream) (The Universities may offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the programme)
